This past weekend FC Barcelona president Sandro Rosell traveled to South Africa to take in the World Cup and also try to meet with Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger. The agenda was of course to push forward the transfer of Cesc Fabregas.

Both Wenger and director Ivan Gazidis held firm in their stance that Fabregas is not for sale. Following a rejected 35 million euro offer from Barcelona it may be a lost cause to get the midfielder in the Camp Nou this coming season.

On Monday following Spain’s World Cup victory in the final against Netherlands FC Barcelona players and national squad members, Gerard Pique and Carles Puyol decided to take matters into their own hands.

As you can see in the video below, during a press conference following their victory both players blindsided Fabregas and decided to skip all the bureaucratic tape and outfit Fabregas in the Barça kit.

If only it were that simple….
