Ibrahimovic removed from squad list for Racing Santander match
It is looking more likely that Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s days are numbered with FC Barcelona as he has been removed from the squad list available for Sunday’s first La Liga match of the season against Racing Santander.
Ibrahimovic had trained with the club on Friday but following much speculation and some inflamitory comments made by Ibrahimovic’s agent toward head coach Pep Guardiola the club looks like they are ready to get rid of the 28 year old striker.
Guardiola met with reports and discussed his frustration with the Ibrahimovic situation saying, “I am tired of the Ibrahimovic situation. We will see what happens in the coming hours. I am not happy with the way this situation has been managed. For now, Ibrahimovic is a Barcelona player. We will see what happens.
“I am the boss here, and I decided not to pick him (against Racing Santander). In a normal situation, he would have been picked but, in this situation, it was best not to select him.”
The squad released for Sundays match is: Valdés, Pinto, Abidal, Alves, Milito, Piqué, Puyol, Maxwell, Adriano, Sergio Busquets, Keita, Xavi, Iniesta, Jeffren, Bojan, Messi, Pedro and Villa.
