Seydou Keita’s hard work in the midfield has not gone unnoticed since he joined the club back in 2008 from Sevilla. The 30 year old from Mali today signed a contract extension with the club until 2014. The contract adds an additional two years to his current contract and brings the buyout clause on his contract to approximately 100 million euros.

If Keita sees his contract through to conclusion he would most likely end his career at the Camp Nou being that he would be 34 years old.

According to statements posted on Barcelona’s official site it looks like Keita intends to do exactly that.

“I’m very happy to play at this club. I‘m in my third year here and we’ve won everything, but I want to stay and win it all again. Barça have given me everything and I really want to stay on here. There is a lot of pressure, but I’d love to stay here till I hang up my boots. That’s my dream, but we’ll have to see how it goes,” said Keita.
