Eric Abidal received the green light on Tuesday to return to the club just in time for their match at Panathinaikos in Champions League play.

Abidal has been sidelined for a week after suffering a slight hamstring injury during France’s international friendly against England.

Head coach Pep Guardiola had already included the French defender in his squad prior to his release by doctors in anticipation of the clean bill of health.

With the addition of Eric Abidal two players from the squad announced yesterday will be deactivated.
