Puyol and Pique out of action this weekend, Jeffren and Milito receive medical clearance
Pep Guardiola will have to make some tough decisions this weekend when FC Barcelona take on Levante Sunday at the Camp Nou.
Captain Carles Puyol will miss Sundays match after suffering a hamstring injury in the Catalan friendly this past Tuesday. Puyol will be sidelined for 7-10 days, knocking him out also for the midweek Copa del Rey match against Athletic Bilbao.
Also missing for Sunday’s match is Gerard Pique who received a yellow card in the team’s last La Liga match and will have to serve a one-match ban.
With both players out Barcelona B defender Marc Bartra trained with the club on Thursday and may get the call up for the match.
Some good news on the player front, both Jeffren Suarez and Gabi Milito received medical clearance on Thursday and will be available if Guardiola chooses so. Jeffren had been sidelined since December 7 after suffering a muscle strain against Rubin Kazan in Champions League. Milito returns since being out of action after suffering a leg injury on November 10 against Ceuta in the Copa del Rey.
