Lionel Messi returned from international duty on Thursday and was immediately seen by team doctors for a physical examination.

Messi sat of Argentina’s Tuesday friendly against Costa Rica sparking concern by Barcelona fans as to the superstar’s availability as the club approaches the home stretch of the season.

It was rumored that Messi had suffered a thigh injury resulting in Argentine manager Sergio Batista pulling Messi from the lineup just prior to kickoff.

Following the examination by team doctors no injury on damage was found to Messi’s right thigh. Messi will undergo physical therapy up until Saturday when a final decision will be made by Guardiola whether or not he will be included in the squad taking on Villarreal.
