FC Barcelona on their way to Wembley for Champions League Final after victory over Real Madrid

FC Barcelona on Tuesday evening defeated Real Madrid at the Camp Nou (3-1 aggregate) securing their place in the Champions League Final to be played from Wembley May 28, 2011.

For FC Barcelona it is their third trip to the Champions League Final in six seasons. It also marks the second time in three seasons that head coach Pep Guardiola has lead his side to the final.

On Wednesday FC Barcelona will find out who they will face at Wembley Stadium though it looks likely it will be Manchester United, who hold a 2 away goal lead over Schalke.

If Manchester United advance it would be a rematch of the 2008/2009 Champions League played in Rome. FC Barcelona came out victorious in Pep Guardiola’s first season in charge of the club 2-0 and also secured the first ever treble in Spanish football.
