News leaked on Sunday night from Sporting Gijon that they had reached an agreement with FC Barcelona for the tranfer of left-back Jose Angel.

The reported deal would include compensation around 4 million euros and would also include a Barcelona B player sent on loan. The two names being thrown around are Marc Muniesa or Marc Bartra but nothing has been confirmed as of yet.

Angel is a 21 year old defender who has appeared with the Spanish under-21 squad and will add some much needed depth to Barcelona’s backline next season. This past January both Malaga and Fiorentina were rumored to be interested in Angel but Gijon instead decided to hold on to the youngster to help with their attempt at staying out of the La Liga drop zone.

With the signing of Angel there are rumors already swirling that Maxwell could be on his way out and that Fiorentina is interested in signing the 29 year old.

On Monday morning Sport.es is reporting that FC Barcelona has decided to hold off on making any public announcement until after the Champions League Final against Manchester United this coming Saturday as to not cause any distractions as the club attempts to secure for fourth Champions League title.
