It was announced on Thursday that FC Barcelona will face second division side Girona in the 22nd Copa Catalunya at the Nou Estadi in Tarragona.

The competition will be held on Monday August 8 and Tuesday August 9. Barcelona will face Girona at 3:45PM EDT following the semi-final match between Espanyol and Nàstic. The final will be played on Tuesday at 3:45PM EDT.

Barcelona will no doubt be at a disadvantage entering the competition just having returned from their US Tour hours before they have to play.

Girona finished 11th last season in the second division.
