FC Barcelona defeated Real Madrid 3-2 at home this evening, 5-4 on aggregate to secure the Spanish Super Cup for a third consecutive year. The match was hard fought as both sides battled back and forth for 90 plus minutes. Of course any Barcelona, Real Madrid match is not complete without controversy and this was no different. But overall the match was definitely a treat for fans of both teams and in the end Lionel Messi once again proved why he is the greatest footballer on the planet, leading his side to victory.
