The match was hard fought with Porto battling until the final whistle. FC Barcelona proved to be too much for them to handle behind a first half goal from Lionel Messi and Cesc Fabregas, who came in late to seal the deal in the second half.

The victory for FC Bacelona means that they have become the most decorated club in Spanish history winning their 76th cup, one ahead of Real Madrid. They also have more European trophies than any other club with 15, one ahead of Real Madrid.

Also with tonights victory, Pep Guardiola surpasses Johan Cruyff as the most successful coach in Barcelona history winning 12 trophies in 3 years. It took Cruyff 8 years to get to 11.
