Ibrahim Afellay will not leave FC Barcelona according to Zubizarreta

On Monday FC Barcelona technical secretary Andoni Zubizarreta addressed rumors that midfielder Ibrahim Afellay would leave the club following the signing of Cesc Fabregas. One of the clubs rumored to be interested in signing the 25 year old is Italian side Juventus.
Zubizarreta strongly denied the rumors saying that Afellay is to remain with the club this season and that they have not had any talks with any other clubs regarding his transfer.
Afellay joined the club last January to add more depth to Guardiola’s squad with his ability to play in the midfield and also upfront. He appeared in 29 total matches for the club scoring two goals and helped the club secure La Liga and the Champions League.
Afellay is currently injured after suffering a thigh injury during the clubs US Tour against Manchester United. He will likely be unavailable for the clubs UEFA Super Cup match Friday against Porto.
