Countdown to El Clasico & Tickets
We are just one month away from the next El Clasico and football fans all over Spain are clamoring for Barcelona v Real Madrid tickets!
If you are a FC Barcelona fan you have to be a little bit concerned as the clubs inconsistent play and numerous injuries seem to be hampering their run in La Liga currently.
Though Barcelona are only three points behind leaders Real Madrid their play on the road has been less than impressive drawing in three of five La Liga matches so far this season.
With the international break upon us this coming week it will give time for many of Barcelona’s players to get a much needed break as they prepare for their Champions League clash with AC Milan on the 23rd along with a league match against Zaragoza just days before.
It will be very important for Pep Guardiola to make sure that his club has momentum going to the Bernabeau and though it would only be the mid-point of the season, giving up three points to Real Madrid could prove to be very costly in May.
Pedro should be back from his foot injury by late November and with the return of Alexis Sanchez from a hamstring injury Barcelona should be at full strength, of course barring and injuries in these upcoming matches.
For Real Madrid they are currently running on all cylinders making easy work of Osasuna last week 7-1 and just a few weeks prior defeating Malaga on the road by four.
The road for Real Madrid in La Liga leading up to El Clasico however is not as favorable as Barcelona’s as they have matches with Valencia on the road followed by Atletico Madrid at home and then at Sporting Gijon. So Jose Mourinho will likely have his work cut out for him as they near their huge clash.
Get ready in the coming weeks for all the shenanigans that we have become accustomed to from Mourinho in the press making remarks and trying to get under the skin of Guardiola and his players.
And of course.. No El Clasico match up would not be complete with the age-old question, Who is better Messi or Ronaldo??
Earlier this week Kaka felt the need to give his opinion on the subject and brace yourself he said Ronaldo. Kaka pointed to Ronaldo’s ability to “score with his left, right and head from set-pieces” and Messi is “excellent” BUT Ronaldo is “a more complete player.”
Both players are once again battling it out this season for the Pichichi, currently Messi is one ahead of Ronaldo with 14 league goals.
The last matchup between these two sides was at the beginning of the season for the Super Copa in which the infamous Mourinho poke in Tito’s eye occurred. Barcelona were victorious 5-4 on aggregate to secure their 10th Copa title.
El Clasico in December has all the makings of yet another tremendous matchup between the two Spanish giants!!
