After three years the Ivory Coast midfielder decides to leave Barcelona to join his brother in England.

It had been rumored for months and on Friday it became true.  Yaya Toure decided to leave Barcelona after three seasons with the club for the English Premier League.  Toure will be playing alongside his brother Kolo for Manchester City.  The transfer of Toure marks the highest price for a transfer in club history getting 30 million euros from City.

Toure joined Barcelona back in the 2007/2008 season from Monaco for eight million euros.  During his time with the club Toure made a name for himself becoming fixture in the midfield for the club and an important part of the teams success.

This past season Toure fell out of favor with head coach Pep Guardiola in favor of the younger Spanish national, Sergio Busquets.  With Toure finding himself with less playing time and suffering injury during the season he began to voice his frustration.  The change in the 27 year olds playing status made Toure rethink the contract extension he agreed to months earlier keeping him at the Camp Nou until 2012.

I agree, Karo. The price is right. I'm sorry to see Yaya go - I think at this point he's better than both Sergi and Seydou Keita, but for that money, it's worth it. Best of luck to him in Manchester.
